Graphic Designer, Web Developer & Webmaster (Consultant)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a consultant to design, develop, launch, maintain and hand over an interactive web platform for the Restoration Investment Plan. The role combines graphic design, web development and webmaster duties, ensuring the site is visually compelling, accessible and bilingual (Spanish/English).

Key responsibilities

• Design and systematize the website’s visual identity, including colour palette, typography, icons and mock‑ups for desktop and mobile.
• Create graphic and audiovisual assets such as infographics, data visualisations, flowcharts and videos.
• Develop, test and launch a responsive, accessible, bilingual website using a content management system.
• Integrate interactive tools, plug‑ins, maps and other visual resources linked to the Investment Plan.
• Ensure functionality, cross‑browser compatibility, loading speed, security and accessibility before launch.
• Configure web analytics tools and provide performance reports.
• Perform technical maintenance, backups, spam protection, malware prevention and SSL configuration.
• Maintain domain and hosting continuity for sixty months.
• Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, source code and digital asset inventories for hand‑over.
• Coordinate regularly with UNEP staff and incorporate feedback to meet technical and communication standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in graphic design and web development for international organisations.
• Ability to work bilingually in Spanish and English.
• Strong understanding of inclusive communication, gender perspective and equitable representation.
• Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and delivering on tight timelines.
