GIS Automation Engineer

About the role

Join a leading Energy & Utilities client in Panama City to design and automate the grid of the future. As a GIS Automation Engineer you will create scalable software solutions that streamline geospatial data workflows and improve data quality across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with GIS analysts, software engineers and project managers to identify automation opportunities.
• Design, develop and maintain Python‑based tools, scripts and ETL workflows for geospatial data processing.
• Build custom ArcGIS services, attribute rules and Workflow Manager solutions to ensure operational consistency.
• Consolidate regional workflows into unified, service‑based architectures.
• Develop REST API integrations and support data migration, integration and automation initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and best practices to boost productivity and data accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, GIS, Geography or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience delivering automation or software solutions in a GIS or geospatial environment.
• Professional English proficiency (B2‑C1).

Required skills

• Python programming (production‑ready tools and automation).
• ArcGIS Pro, ArcPy, ArcGIS REST API, Enterprise Geodatabases, Feature Services.
• SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) and query optimisation.
• Git version control and software development best practices.
• REST API integration.
