About the role

BDO, one of the world’s largest professional services firms, is seeking a Payroll Manager for its Panama office. The role will lead the end‑to‑end payroll process, ensure compliance with local labor and tax regulations, and support the firm’s commitment to sustainability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete payroll cycle and personnel administration for the Panama office.
• Ensure compliance with Panama labor legislation, tax rules, and Social Security (CSS) obligations.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor a payroll team.
• Maintain client relationships and provide executive‑level support.
• Oversee internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
• Prepare financial analyses, payroll reports, and support process automation initiatives.
• Utilize ERP systems and payroll software to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in comprehensive payroll management and personnel administration.
• Strong knowledge of Panama labor and tax legislation, CSS, and related obligations.
• Proven experience supervising teams and managing client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability in internal control, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
