Field Support Specialist

About the role

The Field Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for Grainger's field partners, handling inbound calls and third‑party service forms to ensure timely completion of customer requests. This hybrid position blends customer service, order fulfillment, and supplier coordination to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Expedite purchase orders and quote requests from operations staff, customers, and system‑generated sources.
• Respond to inbound field inquiries regarding quotes, purchase orders, order status, proof of delivery, billing, credits, and return authorizations.
• Maintain adherence to schedule, accessibility, and quality standards for call and form volumes.
• Focus on first‑pass resolution and continuous follow‑up on open issues.
• Develop and sustain relationships with field partners, suppliers, sales, and branch teams.
• Provide availability and lead‑time information, release purchase orders for direct shipment when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently.
• Effective time‑management and organizational abilities.
