About the role
The Coordinator of Safety, Health & Environment is responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Safety, Occupational Health and Environment (SSMA) management systems across all assigned assets. This role ensures compliance with applicable legislation, corporate standards and internal policies.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of SSMA management systems.
- Develop, update and control all SSMA documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms and records.
- Monitor, report and drive achievement of safety, health and environmental objectives, targets and performance indicators.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date matrix of legal and other applicable requirements and manage related action plans.
- Plan and support audits, inspections and regulatory requests, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Manage permits, licenses and other regulatory obligations for environmental compliance.
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessment and control processes for occupational safety and health.
- Identify and evaluate environmental aspects and impacts, implementing operational controls.
- Verify field compliance for high‑risk activities such as work at height, confined spaces, LOTO, electrical work, excavations, lifting, hot work and handling hazardous substances.
- Coordinate pollution prevention, resource efficiency, waste minimisation and emission control programmes.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near‑misses, determine root causes and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain and test the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, including training emergency brigades and conducting drills.
- Ensure availability and operational condition of emergency, rescue, fire‑protection and environmental control equipment.
Required profile
- Proven experience coordinating SSMA systems in an industrial or energy generation environment.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety, health and environmental legislation and standards.
- Ability to develop and control comprehensive management system documentation.
- Experience planning and executing internal and external audits.
- Demonstrated capability to lead risk and environmental impact assessments.
- Hands‑on experience verifying operational controls for high‑risk activities.
- Experience managing incident investigations and corrective action follow‑up.
- Ability to coordinate emergency response training and drills.
