Business Unit Manager

About the role

The Business Unit Manager (International Merchant II) leads merchandising, sourcing and category growth strategies for the LATAM & Caribbean region, driving sales, profit improvement and private‑label penetration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi‑year category and business‑growth strategies, analyzing consumer behavior, market trends and retailer needs.
• Lead factory‑direct program development, creating scalable global and regional assortments and commercialization tools.
• Identify, source and launch Ace‑controlled and private‑label products in partnership with retailers and vendors.
• Formulate supplier strategies, negotiate product cost and terms, and manage supplier qualification and visits.
• Manage annual sales, gross profit, margin expansion and sourcing‑savings targets, monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, marketing, supply chain, engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of business experience, including 5+ years in merchandising/category management and 5+ years in sourcing or supplier development.
• Proven experience developing products, assortments and commercial programs for international markets.
• Fluent English; additional language(s) relevant to LATAM markets preferred.
• Willingness to travel internationally 20‑30% of the time.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of SAP and business reporting tools.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including sales, gross profit, margin, cost and pricing analysis.
• Negotiation expertise for product cost, terms, funding and strategic partnerships.
