Assistant Merchant

About the role

The Assistant Merchant supports a product category for Ace International in Panama, handling everything from category reviews to promotional planning and retailer communication. This role is designed as a development step toward full category responsibility as an Associate Merchant.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Merchant throughout the category review process, preparing analytics and participating in vendor meetings.
• Assist with promotional planning, including vendor assessments, item submissions, pricing, and ad proofing.
• Provide daily customer service to retailers and communicate new programs, updates, and issue resolutions.
• Help select and invite vendors for semi‑annual conventions and prepare show materials.
• Identify and resolve vendor service issues, support inventory planning for promotional items, and process initial orders.
• Lead SKU onboarding, manage item master data, and implement price changes.
• Gather information and documentation for new product development and assist with packaging creation.
• Lead departmental and cross‑functional projects, including category refreshes under guidance.
