About the role

The Panama Canal seeks a diligent Purchasing Agent to manage the full procurement cycle for the Training, Industrial Development and Safety Section. You will ensure compliance with the Procurement Manual, current regulations, and budgetary controls while supporting the organization’s operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchases of materials, equipment, supplies and services required by the section.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process, including quotations, award decisions, contracts, requisitions and supporting documentation.
• Track purchase orders, invoices, payments and evaluate supplier performance.
• Maintain records, files and inventories related to purchases, contracted courses and materials.
• Prepare reports, statistics and budget forecasts linked to procurement activities and section expenses.

Required profile

• Panamanian nationality with a valid driver’s license.
• Intermediate proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Bachelor’s degree (not mandatory) and at least one year of experience in procurement processes, quotation management, order tracking and budget control.
• Familiarity with procurement regulations, internal controls and corporate purchasing policies.
