Afterschool Coach

About the role

The Afterschool Coach plans, leads and develops extracurricular activities that support students' overall development, including skills, creativity, physical fitness, critical thinking and teamwork. The role also prepares and accompanies students in performances, competitions and tournaments, representing the school’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead training sessions, classes, rehearsals and practical activities for the assigned discipline.
• Design age‑appropriate teaching strategies and activities to develop technical, physical and artistic skills.
• Foster values such as discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork and healthy competition.
• Supervise students during training, rehearsals, performances and competitions, ensuring safety and appropriate conduct.
• Prepare and accompany teams to tournaments, competitions and performances, both on‑site and off‑site.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting sessions as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and manage equipment, spaces and resources responsibly.
• Coordinate with program coordinators and other staff to schedule activities and events.
• Comply with school policies, safety protocols and safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Academic background, certification or demonstrated experience in the discipline to be taught (e.g., volleyball).
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a coaching, teaching or facilitation role.
• Strong technical knowledge of the assigned activity and ability to manage groups of varying ages and skill levels.
• Experience in a school environment is preferred.
• Availability to participate in events outside regular school hours.
• Proficiency in English is an asset, especially in an international school setting.
