Associate Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Associate Programme Management Officer supports the implementation and monitoring of disaster risk reduction programmes in the Americas and the Caribbean region, reporting to the Economic Affairs Officer and under the authority of the Deputy and Chief of the Regional Office.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct basic research on programme aspects, collect, analyse and present statistical data from diverse sources.
• Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation, including review of emerging issues and participation in research activities.
• Assist in consulting assignments by planning workshops, facilitating interactive sessions and helping develop client action plans.
• Contribute to written outputs such as background papers, talking points, analytical notes, report sections and inputs to publications.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of assigned programmes and projects.
• Offer substantive assistance to national, sub‑national and local governments and partners on risk reduction, resilient recovery and infrastructure.
• Provide administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences, including agenda setting, participant identification, document preparation and logistics.
• Undertake outreach activities, develop training workshops and deliver presentations on assigned topics.
