Site Safety Manager (Construction)

About the role

Díaz y Guardia is looking for an experienced Site Safety Manager to join our construction team in Panama.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all project personnel onboarding and documentation.
• Coordinate pre‑construction requirements: permits, licenses, OHS Plan, first aid kit, ambulance service for MITRADEL, and Safety Officer fee payment.
• Coordinate OHS procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for each activity.
• Serve as liaison with the client’s inspection team, MITRADEL, and the Union.
• Maintain maintenance records for heavy equipment, cranes, lifts, trucks, mechanical lifting equipment, and light mechanical equipment rented for the project.
• Prepare OHS reports in English.
• Lead safety inductions and monthly safety meetings.
• Follow up on all procedures of the OHS Management System.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years construction experience as a Safety Officer.
• At least 3 years as a Site Safety Manager on projects of similar size and complexity.
• Valid professional license in Occupational Health and Safety issued by MINSA and/or JTIA.
• Knowledge of Panamanian OHS regulations, Executive Decree No. 2, COPANIT standards, and OSHA.
• Intermediate English (reading and writing).
• Ability to work under pressure, leadership, organization, punctuality, responsibility, honesty, initiative, and teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Experience using cloud document management tools such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.
• Knowledge of Panamanian OHS regulations and OSHA standards.
