About the role

We are looking for a senior Cybersecurity Architect to lead the security strategy for a leading bank in Panama. The role combines technical depth with strategic vision, ensuring the institution’s digital transformation is protected while maintaining business agility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the security strategic plan, roadmap and architecture processes aligned with business objectives.
• Create architecture views, standards, templates and hardening baselines for all security domains.
• Perform threat modeling for applications and services, linking identified risks to appropriate controls.
• Integrate secure development and coding practices into the DevSecOps lifecycle.
• Validate reference IT architecture, network segmentation, cloud environments and defensive tool configurations.
• Assess and audit the cybersecurity posture of SaaS, IaaS, MSP and other third‑party providers handling confidential data.
• Collaborate continuously with infrastructure, business continuity, privacy and the Digital Architecture Office teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electronic & Communications Engineering or related field; postgraduate studies in Cybersecurity, IT Architecture or Systems Auditing are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Security and Cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in IT Architecture within the banking or financial services sector.

Required skills

• Security architecture frameworks: TOGAF, BIAN, NIST CSF, ISO‑27001, PCI‑DSS, COBIT.
• Cloud and multicloud security (Azure, AWS) and operating‑system hardening.
• Defensive technologies: WAF, SIEM, EDR, PAM.
• Threat modeling and secure coding practices within DevSecOps pipelines.
