About the role
The Tax Exemption Specialist is responsible for reviewing customer sales‑tax exemption certificates, ensuring they are complete and accurate, and applying the appropriate exemptions to customer accounts. This is a four‑month temporary position working in a hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review customer exemption certificates for completeness and accuracy.
- Work directly with customers or internal partners to remediate any missing or incorrect information.
- Apply the appropriate tax exemption to the customer’s account.
- Share best practices and knowledge with team members to improve collective expertise.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in finance, legal, or customer service.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners via phone, email, and in person.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage a high volume of emails.
