Staff Civil Engineer – Site Development

About the role

Langan is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Panama. The role focuses on planning, designing, and permitting civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects for mixed‑use, retail, residential, higher‑education, federal and other development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering and land‑development projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software.
• Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydraulic and hydrological data to inform sustainable and resilient design solutions.
• Conduct zoning, ordinance and permit assessments and support feasibility studies.
• Provide field inspection services as required and attend client and team meetings.
• Recommend innovative approaches to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of engineering mathematics.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and locations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and conduct field inspections.
