Sr. Specialist, Flight Operations

About the role

The Senior Flight Operations Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and releasing commercial flights in compliance with aviation regulations and company standards. This role ensures safe, efficient, and on‑time operations while supporting internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with maintenance to obtain airworthiness information and assess flight impacts.
• Verify weather conditions and NOTAMs for origin, destination, alternates, and en‑route airports.
• Perform aircraft performance analysis, considering structural weight limits and runway data.
• Prepare ICAO‑compliant flight plans using DHL Aero Expreso procedures.
• Calculate fuel requirements and release the flight after confirming all parameters.
• Generate final weight‑and‑balance, load orders, and hazardous‑goods notifications (NOTOC) when applicable.
• Use digital tools to create and archive all operational documents.

Required profile

• Valid flight dispatcher license issued by the AAC.
• In‑depth knowledge of Panama Civil Aviation Regulations (RACP) and hazardous‑goods handling.
• Advanced spoken and written English.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and excellent interpersonal communication.
• Organized, proactive, responsible, and preferably experienced in supervising staff.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
