Signalling System Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Signalling System Engineer to lead system and signalling integration activities for the Panama Line 3 Metro project. Based in Panama City, the role focuses on delivering the signalling technical solution on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage system and signalling requirements, ensuring proper allocation and validation.
• Coordinate all subsystem interfaces, scheduling technical resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop signalling system design documentation, including architecture, functionalities and verification activities.
• Perform gap analysis against standard solutions and manage software configuration deliveries on site and in the lab.
• Execute on‑site signalling system tests and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests for main equipment.
• Serve as the primary contact for the project team and customer regarding signalling matters, overseeing approval processes with authorities.
• Support the Commissioning Manager and Project Engineer to achieve final system approval.

Required profile

• Proven experience in railway signalling projects and system integration.
• Strong knowledge of requirements and interface management processes.
• Ability to produce and verify detailed design documentation.
• Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and handling regulatory approvals.
