Senior FreeCAD Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team and deliver high‑quality parametric CAD models for mechanical projects. You will work closely with product designers and manufacturers to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and meet project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project requirements.
• Develop and optimise mechanical assemblies, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Use Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred, not mandatory).
• Collaborate with the team by providing feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model integrity against specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills for remote, project‑based collaboration.
