Senior Energy Engineer

About the role

ECO Engineering & Automation is looking for a Senior Energy Engineer to lead industrial energy assessments and drive high‑impact efficiency and decarbonisation projects for manufacturing clients. The role spans field audits, engineering analysis, business‑case development, client presentations and implementation support, with a focus on utilities and thermal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site energy assessments, system studies and technical audits of industrial utilities.
• Evaluate chilled water plants, chillers, cooling towers, pumping and hydronic networks, HVAC, steam and other major process systems.
• Review P&IDs, one‑lines, control narratives, BAS/SCADA data, historian exports and utility records to establish performance baselines.
• Design and implement metering strategies to validate operating conditions and generate actionable recommendations.
• Develop engineering calculations, energy and mass balances, KPI dashboards, savings models and technical justifications.
• Identify, prioritize and scope Energy Conservation Measures and decarbonisation opportunities, including controls upgrades, retrofits and capital projects.
• Prepare conceptual engineering packages with equipment sizing, automation requirements, cost estimates and implementation schedules.
• Support project implementation through design review, procurement, construction coordination, commissioning and performance verification.
• Produce clear technical reports, executive summaries, roadmaps and client‑facing presentations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in industrial utilities, thermal systems and energy efficiency projects.
• Proven ability to work directly with plant teams and senior client stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to translate technical data into business value.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting findings.
