Python Software Engineer (Automation)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join our Automation Team. You will design and build robust automation systems that support critical workflows for a power‑systems consultancy, leveraging modern orchestration tools and cloud‑native technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality Python workflow code to automate power‑system engineering analysis.
• Ensure code complies with team standards, including linting, unit tests, end‑to‑end tests, and security controls.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) for testing, development, and deployment.
• Participate in requirements‑gathering sessions with stakeholders and end‑users.
• Attend daily stand‑ups, sprint ceremonies, and track time as required.
• Support additional software development tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Python with experience building production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one workflow orchestration engine (e.g., Windmill.dev, Temporal, Kestra, Hatchet).
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Practical experience running production workloads on AWS (EC2 and EKS).
• Experience with data‑processing tools such as Pandas, Polars, or DuckDB.
• Proficiency using Pydantic for data validation and settings management.
• Experience with IaC and configuration‑management tools.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication.
