Project Consultant – AI & Frontier Data Tech Initiatives (Remote, Panama)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Project Consultant to support its regional data technology portfolio, focusing on AI and frontier data initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role is remote, based in Panama, and will work closely with the Data and Monitoring Manager and the Frontier Data Network team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design, planning, implementation, documentation, and delivery tracking of selected AI and frontier data use cases.
• Strengthen data expertise that reflects local realities across the region.
• Expand the use of Artificial Intelligence and geospatial intelligence for program impact.
• Foster collaborative innovation ecosystems with governments, academia, civil society, and technology partners.
• Work with technical teams in LACRO, Country Offices, Digital Impact Division, OSE, and external partners.

Required profile

• Experience in managing data‑focused projects, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of AI, geospatial intelligence, and data lifecycle management.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder collaborations across regions.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
