Program Manager

About the role

Join Tigo as a Program Manager to lead strategic technology transformation initiatives across the region. You will drive large‑scale telecom projects, align them with business goals, and deliver measurable benefits that improve network quality, capacity and time‑to‑market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, control and successful closure of regional strategic programs and projects focused on technological transformation and telecommunications.
• Ensure program alignment with business objectives such as growth, operational efficiency and CAPEX/OPEX optimization.
• Act as a strategic partner to C‑level stakeholders, providing data‑driven decision support on timing, risks and investment.
• Establish and chair executive governance bodies, including steering committees, to monitor critical activities and manage escalations.
• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of network modernization initiatives, including migrations and IT integrations.
• Capture and realize program benefits, impacting key performance indicators like network quality, capacity, efficiency and time‑to‑market.
• Define execution strategies that maximize portfolio value while optimizing resources, schedule and cost.
• Proactively manage high‑complexity strategic and operational risks.
• Coordinate with major vendors (e.g., ZTE, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia) and regional stakeholders.
• Promote standardization, scalability and synergies across multiple countries.
• Lead multidisciplinary matrix teams without direct hierarchical authority.
• Evolve the Program Management model by incorporating best practices, agile methodologies and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as SOX, security and change‑control standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Project Management and/or PMP certification (or equivalent).
• Advanced English proficiency (mandatory).
• More than 10 years of experience managing strategic programs in telecom or technology environments.
