Outside Sales Engineer – New Construction & Aftermarket (Panama)

About the role

The Outside Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales of IMI Critical’s portfolio of control valves, choke valves, desuperheaters, steam conditioning stations, actuators, HIPPS systems, isolation valves and pressure relief valves across Panama and the wider Latin America region. This remote position focuses on new construction projects and aftermarket opportunities in power generation, oil & gas, pulp & paper, water treatment and related industries.

Key responsibilities

• Visit existing and prospective customers regularly to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Educate key decision‑makers on the benefits of IMI Critical products and influence technical specifications.
• Understand and communicate each customer’s structure, budgeting process, and purchasing behavior.
• Develop new accounts and expand the customer base within the defined geography.
• Coordinate and deliver technical presentations and sales seminars with IMI experts.
• Ensure IMI Critical products are included on customer vendor lists and maintain a strong market presence.
• Organise and conduct customer events and product demonstrations.
• Make regular calls and visits to end‑user plants, corporate offices, and maintenance, engineering and purchasing teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in outside sales of industrial equipment or engineering services.
• Familiarity with large‑scale power generation, oil & gas, pulp & paper, water treatment or similar sectors.
• Ability to work independently, travel frequently within the assigned region and manage a remote work environment.
