National Sea Logistics Manager

About the role

As a member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, you will lead the national Sea Logistics business, shaping strategy, driving growth and ensuring operational excellence. You will work closely with local, regional and global stakeholders to deliver outstanding value to customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the country’s Sea Logistics strategy to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.
• Develop and strengthen customer relationships, support new business acquisition and manage key accounts.
• Oversee carrier partnerships, negotiate rates and implement procurement strategies aligned with global frameworks.
• Drive productivity, process standardisation, compliance and service quality across all sea logistics activities.
• Own the Sea Logistics P&L, including budgeting, cost control and financial performance.
• Lead, develop and mentor high‑performing teams while building a succession pipeline.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and regional teams to identify market opportunities and deliver customer‑focused logistics solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitive developments and industry opportunities to support business growth and product innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Sea Logistics, Freight Forwarding or a related logistics environment.
• Proven experience leading sea‑freight operations and commercial development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of budget management, P&L ownership and financial performance.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams in a dynamic, customer‑focused setting.
• Extensive network and relationship‑management experience with ocean carriers and industry stakeholders.
• Excellent commercial acumen with strong negotiation, decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Professional proficiency in English.
