Marine Sales Executive

About the role

Whale Maritime is seeking a driven Marine Sales Executive to be based in Panama. This hunter‑type position focuses on opening new accounts, expanding existing relationships, and maintaining a robust pipeline for marine products and services across Panama and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities locally and regionally.
• Conduct high‑volume cold calling and outbound prospecting to build a healthy sales pipeline.
• Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to after‑sales follow‑up.
• Maintain structured, timely follow‑up on all leads, quotations and opportunities.
• Build long‑term relationships with shipowners, operators, agents, technical managers and purchasing departments.
• Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate terms within pricing and margin guidelines.
• Collaborate with operations, technical and logistics teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Record all sales activity, client interactions and pipeline status; report regularly on results versus targets.
• Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and activity KPIs.

Required profile

• Full fluency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
• Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Hands‑on experience with cold calling, outbound prospecting and structured follow‑up.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and closing abilities.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined and able to work autonomously.
• Comfortable dealing with clients at all organisational levels.
• Well‑organised with solid record‑keeping and reporting habits.
• Willingness and availability to travel within the region.
• Legally authorised to work in Panama.
