Logistics Officer

About the role

The Logistics Officer supports the Senior Officer, Regional Logistics in managing IFRC’s humanitarian supply chain. The role ensures that stock is properly managed, fully accountable, and readily available to meet the needs of vulnerable populations during emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock management across regional hubs.
• Coordinate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in line with IFRC policies.
• Monitor stock levels, forecast needs, and trigger replenishment actions.
• Support procurement processes and ensure compliance with supply‑chain standards.
• Prepare regular stock and logistics reports for senior management.
• Liaise with logistics hubs, regional units, and country offices to facilitate timely deliveries.
• Assist in emergency response logistics, ensuring rapid deployment of essential supplies.

Required profile

• National staff eligible to work in the country where IFRC operates.
• Experience in logistics, inventory control, or supply‑chain management, preferably in a humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of IFRC supply‑chain procedures and humanitarian logistics.
• Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
