About the role

The company seeks a senior accounting and control leader to oversee the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, tax compliance and internal controls across the group. The role supports senior management with reliable financial information and drives process automation using technology.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the accounting cycle, month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Prepare and analyze individual and consolidated financial statements, cost structures, margins and performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with Panamanian tax law, accounting standards (IFRS/NIIF) and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate external, tax and governmental audits.
• Strengthen internal controls, identify risks and monitor deviations.
• Provide financial and accounting advice to senior management.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting and control team.
• Promote automation, continuous improvement and efficiency of accounting processes.

Required profile

• Active CPA license in Panama.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field is desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in managerial positions within accounting, finance or control.
• Proven experience with accounting closures, individual and consolidated statements, and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/NIIF and Panamanian fiscal legislation.
• Experience managing external, tax and governmental audits.
• Background in retail, consumer goods, supermarkets, manufacturing or food sectors is a plus.
