Engineering Drafter – Detailed Engineering

About the role

We are designing the grid of the future! Join our innovative team as an Engineering Drafter, producing and coordinating detailed engineering CAD deliverables for electrical infrastructure projects, including generation plants and substations, based in Panama City.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings and documentation for electrical generation facilities using AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms.
• Collaborate with lead engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure drawing packages are accurate, code‑compliant, and aligned with standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC) and client specifications.
• Support engineering design from conceptual through IFC phases, incorporating review comments, RFI responses, and field markups.
• Coordinate with civil/structural, mechanical, and protection & controls disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and deliverable trackers in line with project schedules and document control protocols.

Required profile

• Associate’s diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience drafting for utility‑level substations and electrical generation systems.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus).
• Familiarity with standard drawing types such as single‑line diagrams, schematics, layouts, cable and conduit schedules, and grounding plans.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards applicable to electrical generation facilities.
• Experience using AI and automation tools to improve drafting quality and productivity.
