Engineering Drafter – Detailed Engineering

About the role

We are designing the grid of the future and need an Engineering Drafter to produce and coordinate detailed engineering CAD deliverables for electrical infrastructure projects such as generation plants and substations. Based in Panama, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, code‑compliant, construction‑ready packages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings (site plans, single‑line diagrams, three‑line diagrams, schematics, panel views, cable and conduit schedules, equipment layouts, grounding plans) using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD platforms.
• Coordinate with lead engineers, project managers and discipline leads to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with IEEE, NEC, IEC standards and client specifications.
• Support design from concept through Issued‑for‑Construction phases, incorporating review comments, RFI responses and field mark‑ups.
• Collaborate with civil/structural, mechanical and protection & controls disciplines to resolve design conflicts and maintain cross‑discipline consistency.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs and deliverable trackers in line with project schedules and document‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design or a related field.
• At least 2 years of drafting experience on utility‑scale substations or electrical generation systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD platform)

• Use of AI‑driven automation tools for drafting efficiency
• Familiarity with document management systems
