About the role

The Production Manager – Bodywork is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the manufacturing processes of truck bodies, including bull trucks, panel trucks, dry and refrigerated units. The role ensures structural quality, on‑time delivery, operational efficiency and optimal use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop weekly and monthly production schedules, set priorities based on orders and commercial commitments, and coordinate delivery times with the sales department.
• Supervise cutting, welding, assembly and finishing operations, guaranteeing efficient use of machinery and continuous plant operation.
• Lead the production team: assign daily tasks, monitor compliance, evaluate performance and promote technical training.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings and technical specifications, resolve production issues and coordinate adjustments with design or engineering.
• Inspect weld quality, finishes and structural integrity, validate correct assembly and work to reduce re‑work and failures.
• Control material consumption, coordinate with purchasing for timely supply and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
• Monitor unit production costs, optimise material and labour usage and implement waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to shorten manufacturing times and increase productivity.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety regulations and supervise the use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4‑7 years of experience in metal‑mechanical production environments.
• Knowledge of welding, cutting, assembly processes and ability to read technical drawings.
• Familiarity with production control, industrial safety standards and cost‑control practices.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel and experience with AutoCAD.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred.
