Director Ejecutivo – Salud y Seguros Médicos

About the role

The organization is seeking an Executive Director to lead its health and medical insurance operations in Panama. The role combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, and stakeholder management across a complex, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall operation of the organization in Panama.
• Represent the entity before boards, international bodies, and key health sector actors.
• Supervise administration of health programs and medical benefits.
• Ensure compliance with operational, financial, and quality indicators.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of medical, administrative, and operational staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with medical providers, hospitals, insurers, and government entities.
• Oversee claims processing, benefit programs, and member care initiatives.
• Present executive reports and performance results to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
• Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Finance or related field, with postgraduate studies in health, or a Medical Doctorate with health administration, MBA or related studies.
• More than 5 years in senior executive leadership positions.
• Proven experience managing complex operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in health plan administration and medical benefits.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage or similar programs.
• Background in international medical insurance, benefit administration or travel assistance insurance.
• Experience working with boards, international organizations, and regulatory bodies.
• Advanced English (C1 or higher) and excellent written and oral Spanish communication skills.
