Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)

About the role

FoshTech is looking for a detail‑oriented Database Administrator to manage PostgreSQL databases in on‑premise environments. You will ensure the stability, availability and security of our data platforms while supporting our e‑commerce applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain PostgreSQL databases on‑premise.
• Manage the underlying Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Ensure database stability, availability, security and reliability.
• Perform monitoring, performance analysis, tuning and troubleshooting.
• Execute routine maintenance, updates, backups and recovery tasks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet application and data requirements.
• Document processes, configurations and best practices.
• Participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on PostgreSQL administration.
• Linux system administration experience (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Experience with SQL Server administration.
• Understanding of HA/DR concepts, backup strategies and failover mechanisms.
• Knowledge of data structures, schemas and database internals.
• Upper‑intermediate English (reading and writing).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
