Buyer (Comprador)

About the role

Join the Cobre Panamá team as a Buyer. You will support site operations by managing the procurement of goods, ensuring timely supply and compliance with corporate standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the local purchasing strategy in coordination with Purchasing and Community Affairs.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of local suppliers, including capabilities and business opportunities.
• Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, the Purchasing team, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication.
• Identify and develop opportunities for local suppliers, guiding them through registration, tendering and payment processes.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Community Development or a related field.
• Intermediate conversational English.
• Proven experience in sourcing and managing suppliers.
