Area Scout – Panama

About the role

The Boston Red Sox International Scouting Department is looking for an Area Scout to cover Panama. The Scout will identify, evaluate, and report on amateur and professional baseball talent throughout the country, working closely with the scouting team and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scout for the Panama territory, building a comprehensive network of players, coaches, trainers, and representatives.
• Maintain a detailed preference list and submit regular talent reports.
• Collect data, physical assessments, and video footage of prospects.
• Evaluate player abilities, character, and family background, fostering strong relationships.
• Provide frequent updates to supervisors and coordinate tryouts and events both within and outside the assigned area.
• Submit expense reports in accordance with Red Sox policies.
• Ensure compliance with MLB International Scouting rules and Red Sox guidelines.
• Participate in professional development activities as assigned.

Required profile

• Must reside permanently in Panama.
• Strong knowledge of baseball talent evaluation and scouting processes.
• Ability to travel throughout the country and attend events.
• Commitment to adhering to MLB and team scouting policies.
