About the role

The Category Administrator is responsible for ensuring the right products and assortments are available to meet company profitability, sales targets, service level and customer satisfaction. This role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to manage the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage national and international suppliers: search, evaluate and negotiate to maintain a competitive, profitable portfolio.
• Define and optimise the product assortment, including new launches, substitutions and removal of low‑rotation items.
• Control and analyse inventory levels to guarantee optimal supply and turnover without sacrificing margin.
• Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers on terms, pricing, discounts and returns to maximise category profit.
• Perform market and price competitive analysis to ensure competitiveness and drive sales growth.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in category management, purchasing or a similar role, preferably in retail, FMCG or distribution.
• Knowledge of inventory management, supplier negotiation (national and international) and price analysis.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and data‑analysis tools.
• Strong negotiation, strategic analysis, effective communication and results‑oriented mindset.
• Intermediate/advanced English, especially for dealing with international suppliers.
