Associate Information Management Officer – Accountability & Impact

About the role

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking an Associate Information Management Officer to join the Accountability and Impact Team (AIT) at its Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Panama City. The role supports OCHA’s mission to coordinate effective humanitarian action by managing data, web content and geographic information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update web platforms, ensuring content quality, metadata compliance and interoperability with partner sites such as ReliefWeb.
• Design, develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets and other data tools, guaranteeing accuracy, consistency and comparability of high‑value humanitarian data.
• Conduct statistical analysis of location‑specific datasets and contribute to the development of data standards, including the Humanitarian Exchange Language.
• Support humanitarian needs assessments, secondary data reviews and rapid multi‑cluster assessments, using tools such as KoBo Toolbox and Open Data Kit (ODK).
• Maintain spatial baseline and operational GIS datasets, and produce updated maps in line with OCHA standards.

Required profile

• Experience in web content management and metadata standards.
• Proficiency in database and spreadsheet design and maintenance.
• Ability to apply statistical techniques to humanitarian data.
• Familiarity with humanitarian assessment processes and tools.
• Knowledge of GIS principles and map production.
